A DC Comics-published American comic book features the character Harley Quinn. Quinn made her debut in the 22nd episode of Batman: The Animated Series, “Joker’s Favor,” on September 11, 1992. Quinn was conceived by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm as a comedic relief henchwoman for the supervillain Joker. Quinn was only supposed to be in one episode, but she ended up being the Joker’s sidekick and love interest throughout the DC Animated Universe, and seven years later, starting with Batman: Harley Quinn #1, she was included into the Batman comic book canon by DC Comics.
