First-person shooter survival horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was created and released by Ukrainian game company GSC Game World. It will be the fourth installment in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game series and the first to be released on consoles, following the release of Call of Pripyat in 2009. It will be available for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox Series X/S.
Prior to being finally canceled on the year of its intended release, it was initially announced following the release of Call of Pripyat with a 2012 release date. Years later, in 2018, the game reappeared. The Unreal Engine 5-powered work was restarted. However, because of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the game’s release date of December 8, 2022, was postponed. The development team later clarified on their official Discord channel, though, that the procedure is still in progress and that the delivery date is presently set for 2023.
